HomeCare Protection Ts & Cs
These Terms & Conditions apply to the HomeCare Protection add-on offered by Smitten Property Maintenance.
1. Eligibility
HomeCare Protection is available exclusively to active Smitten Property Maintenance residential membership holders.
The HomeCare Protection add-on may be added to any eligible membership plan at any time.
To be eligible to make a claim, members must maintain continuous HomeCare Protection coverage for a minimum period of six (6) consecutive months immediately prior to the qualifying life event.

2. Qualifying Life Events
A qualifying life event includes circumstances that temporarily prevent a member from maintaining their property due to events outside of their control, including:
• Serious injury resulting in temporary incapacity
• Hospitalisation of the member
• Significant illness affecting the member’s ability to perform normal property maintenance tasks
• Bereavement following the loss of an immediate family member
• Other exceptional circumstances approved at the sole discretion of Smitten Property Maintenance
Smitten Property Maintenance reserves the right to request reasonable supporting documentation where appropriate.

3. Membership Payment Pause
Upon approval of a HomeCare Protection claim, the member’s residential membership payments will be temporarily paused while Smitten Property Maintenance continues to provide the complimentary services included under the HomeCare Protection benefit.
No additional membership fees will be charged during the approved benefit period.

4. Complimentary Visits
The number of complimentary visits available during an approved qualifying life event depends on the member’s HomeCare Protection tier:
Weekend Freedom HomeCare Protection (+$4/month)
Includes up to two (2) complimentary visits.
Always Sorted HomeCare Protection (+$6/month)
Includes up to four (4) complimentary visits.
VIP Home Care Protection (+$9/month)
Includes up to six (6) complimentary visits.
Unused complimentary visits cannot be transferred, accumulated, exchanged for cash or carried forward.

5. Claim Frequency
Members may make one (1) approved HomeCare Protection claim within any twelve (12) month period.
The qualifying event period commences from the date the first complimentary visit is provided.

6. Service Scope
Complimentary visits provided under HomeCare Protection are limited to the standard services included within the member’s active residential membership plan.
Additional services outside the scope of the member’s existing plan may incur additional charges.

7. Notification Requirements
Members, or a person acting on their behalf, must notify Smitten Property Maintenance of the qualifying life event as soon as reasonably practicable.
Claims will not be backdated for services completed prior to notification.

8. Cancellation of HomeCare Protection
HomeCare Protection may be cancelled at any time by providing four (4) weeks’ written notice.
Cancellation of the HomeCare Protection add-on does not affect the member’s residential membership.
Members who cancel HomeCare Protection and later choose to re-enrol will be required to satisfy a new six (6) month qualifying period before becoming eligible to make a claim.

9. General Conditions
HomeCare Protection is designed to provide temporary support during unforeseen circumstances and must not be used as a substitute for income protection, health insurance or other personal insurance products.
Smitten Property Maintenance reserves the right to decline claims where there is reasonable evidence of fraudulent, misleading or abusive use of the HomeCare Protection benefit.
Smitten Property Maintenance may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time by providing reasonable notice to affected members.
